General Summary
Dedicated to advancing VSP’s Member Health initiatives to improve the standard of care of VSP members’ visual and health needs. This position will work closely with the healthcare and disease management industry to advance eye care as part of overall member health and wellness. This position will lead a clinical and non-clinical team to positively impact population-based care measures and factors that influence health.
Essential Functions
Responsible for successfully achieving multi-year business/functional outcomes associated with VSP’s Member Health goals.
Provide leadership that guides and influences/executes on the strategies that are undertaken to positively impact member-based care measures and factors that influence eye health and access to eyecare.
Work in partnership with healthcare and disease management, external experts on eyecare and eye health to progress VSP Member Health goals.
Builds deep clinical relationships with health systems and other community resources to partner on initiatives to improve member health and well-being.
Manages and establishes programs and systems to improve HEDIS scores and other quality measures.
Leverages existing data to demonstrate to clients, partners, and healthcare industry VSP’s impact on overall health.
Partner directly with internal and external clinical experts in advanced technologies, treatments and telehealth programs to advance eye health initiatives.
Responsible for the quality oversight of the eye health management program across the enterprise.
Utilization and Quality Management (UM/QM) analysis of clinical member health activities.
Provide quality oversight and manage the Member health management program across the enterprise.
Job Specifications
Bachelor’s degree in health administration or related field or equivalent experience.
15 years’ experience in management with at least ten years in high-level experience in several functional areas preferably in a corporate environment.
Experience in population health and/or disease management. Experience in the relationship between eyecare and overall systemic health issues preferred.
Viewed as the leading expert and/or resource within the field by peers within and outside the organization.
Experience in quality improvement and population-based care processes.
Exceptional verbal and written communication and program/project management skills, including an ability to communicate effectively at an executive level.
Ability to be a thought leader internally and externally representing VSP in clinical and non-clinical environments.
Experience leading clinical and non-clinical team to positively impact population-based care measures and factors that influence health.
Ability to build strong and sustainable trusting relationships and the capability to interact within all levels of the organization, internally and externally.
Strong communicator. Ability to present information clearly and concisely to various audiences.
Ability to deal with highly confidential information and act as a liaison between the business leader and other constituencies, both internal and external.
Preferred Skills
Doctor of Optometry is highly preferred

The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust etc.
