The Vice President, Finance for the University of St. Augustine (USAHS) will be a key leadership member of the finance team who will work across the organization and functional boundaries using an understanding of the business and develop financial analyses/models and recommendations to support business planning and decision making. This role will work closely with the senior executive team of USAHS to analyze historical results, identify business trends, assess viability of business opportunities, develop strategic plans, measuring success to provide recommendations for future business decisions. The scope of responsibility for this high visibility position includes the full breadth of financial planning, forecasting and analysis for USAHS. The position also requires a senior level of accounting proficiency and the ability to work effectively with the accounting function.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for financial planning, reporting and analysis for the USAHS and the associated university properties. This includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • Creates, leads and executes the strategic initiatives to enhance financial practices that assures financial health of the institution; provides forecasting analysis; participates in long-range financial planning.
  • Leads the process to develop and manage the annual operating budget for the University with the input of Executive Officers, Deans and Directors including development of individual department level budgets.
  • Lead the financial reporting and strategic planning function in close collaboration with the CFO, University President, and USAHS leadership teams.
  • Provide financial analysis and support to the universities’ business units/properties by facilitating the development of the long-range plan, providing financial outlook modeling, and budget variance analysis to ensure alignment with overall business objectives for that business leader. Identify and communicate risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare and consolidate financial performance of all assigned university properties for the USAHS leadership team.
  • Leadership responsibilities for the annual budgeting process and re-engineering of our existing budget process.
  • Development of monthly and annual dashboards of key performance indicators to measure progress towards achievement key strategic business goals recommending realignments as appropriate.
  • Lead the FP&A function in the development of effective financial forecast reports indicating monthly P&L results. Provide formal review to senior stakeholders for adjustments and/or reengineering of forecast and business models.
  • Manage financial reporting issues to include research, resolution and maintenance of requisite documentation.
  • Support the USAHS through ad hoc financial analysis and reporting, including new business opportunities, student enrollment forecasts, pricing analysis, etc.
  • Deliver a high level of financial leadership, technical expertise and functional knowledge to define, implement and deliver global best practices related to financial planning and processes across USAHS.
