Scope
Reporting directly to the Chubb Group Global IT & Operations Officer, the Head of Global Operations Strategy & Execution will drive the execution and reporting for all global expense programs including the Intelligent Process Automation program as well as other global strategic programs identified by executive management. The current multi-year portfolio of savings initiatives totals $1billion across 54 countries, six regions and multiple business lines. This role will be responsible for driving execution through influence of senior level business and functional executives. The incumbent will also lead Global Operations strategy and execution.
Execution
  • Leads execution of the Enterprise Intelligent Process Automation program collaborating and executing through the business and functional unit teams and the Enterprise Center of Practice.
  • Possesses comprehensive understanding of the status and trajectory of enterprise initiatives and creates transparency for appropriate leaders and other constituents.
  • Drives prioritization and sequencing of programs across the functional operations portfolio to ensure the highest and best use of resourcing as well as optimizing dependencies and mitigating project risks
  • Establishes and manages steering/governance in further transparency from program proposal through inception and ongoing execution
  • Organizes and governs the cross functional core team of professionals required to support enterprise level program execution such as Finance, Legal, HR, Compliance, Procurement, IT, etc.
  • Collaborates with Global Operations CFO on program and enterprise financials including benefit capture and cost to achieve.
  • Owns vendor relationships in support of sourcing for assigned enterprise programs; ensures optimal contractual arrangements, resource utilization and optimization across the firm
  • Provides leadership and expertise to various programs as they evaluate and propose programs including strategy, business case, sequencing, etc.
  • Owns the methodology and approval mechanisms to seek approval for initiation of enterprise functional operations projects
  • Evaluates resourcing requirements and allocates same according to enterprise demand, prioritization and skillsets
  • Delivers outcomes defined in the program charters and overall program plan
  • Identifies and analyzes indicative data to glean insights as to performance and trajectory of in-flight projects
  • Acts in a program assurance capacity; diving into at risk programs to understand issues, root causes and development of remediation plans
  • Leads a team of Enterprise Program Managers (EPM’s) who manage multiple complex programs and projects as part of the enterprise portfolio

Global Operations Strategy
  • Leads Global Operations Leadership team through annual and five year strategic and strategy initiative planning in partnership with the Global Ops CFO.
  • Stays abreast of global trends, signals, techniques and tools inside and outside the industry to enhance our strategic vision and executions. Educates leadership team on relevant information.
  • Identifies, implements and monitors metrics and indicators to assess progress towards strategic vision and associated
  • Identifies risks and threats to delivery of Global Operations’ operating mission & vision and develops tactical plans to mitigate
Minimum Qualifications
  • 15 or more years of operations and financial services in financial services leadership/work experience responsible for strategic planning and execution
  • Extensive knowledge of Insurance operations, systems and finance management
  • Strong executive level program/project management skill capable of supporting multiple large scale initiatives, programs and projects in a highly matrixed, federated organization.
  • A minimum of ten years of leadership experience in managing multiple, large cross-functional teams and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders.
  • Able to lead through influence with the ability to execute through a highly matrix organization
  • Strong communication skills – verbal, written, presentation with strong executive presence
  • Able to operate at all levels of the organization
  • Effectively leads through others and build and maintain a high performing team.
  • Demonstrated track record in successful program and project management with experience driving efficiencies and managing costs
  • The successful candidate must have demonstrated academic success in his/her undergraduate career. A bachelor’s degree is required and an advanced degree is preferred.
