RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of program and project management for highly complex and highly visible Crew Ops, Safety & Regulatory strategic initiatives over the life of the projects/programs. The Project Manager is the expert on the projects/programs they manage, accountable for day-to-day work activities, decisions, driving progress, and resolving issues.


WORK ACTIVITIES/CONTENT:

  • Partners with Senior Leadership, agile teams and other Departments to lead programs in support of Crew Ops, Safety & Regulatory and the Company’s strategic plan.

  • Defines and drives complex program plans for multiple, simultaneous, related projects and for individual highly complex projects including scope, budget and schedule.

  • Executes tasks defined in the project/program plan to achieve project/program goals using standard program and project management and/or agile delivery methodologies. These projects & programs are being delivered using Scaled Agile Framework methodology, and you’ll play an Epic Owner role for the epics in your projects/programs.

  • Works as the project/program leader; managing multiple work streams.

  • Responsible for driving analysis, recommendations, decisions and delivery.

  • Validates and helps develop business cases with Customers/Partners.

  • Establishes and leads company-wide teams of various departments and functions, and vendors in developing strategy, project plans, business cases, and overall project/program health plans.

  • Proactively monitors project/program risks, issues, and scope, ensuring the appropriate level of priority, visibility, alignment, communication and escalation.

  • Initiates overall communication strategy and leads meetings and presentations to Sr. Leadership.

  • Ensures appropriate formal governance & change management processes are followed for programs and projects.
  • Continually assesses project needs and resources to complete on time and within budget
  • Drives business readiness, testing, and acceptance project results where necessary

  • Synthesizes communication for all levels of Leadership, including Sr. Leaders, Executives, and Sr. Executives.

  • Gains buy-in for program goals and lead others through decision-making with challenging and diverse Customer groups.

  • Is a champion for change and process improvements to streamline and improve process effectiveness and efficiencies.

  • Builds and nurtures relationships with Customers/Partners, agile team members and Senior Leadership at all levels, and makes sound recommendations to Leadership, while providing support and guidance for business, operational and Technology dependent programs.

  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.


EDUCATION:
  • College degree in Technology, Finance, Business or equivalent work experience required.
  • MBA preferred.

WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • 3 or more years work experience in project management required.
  • 2 or more years as a project manager required.
  • 5 years or more experience in a Project Manager/Epic Owner role working within Agile and/or SAFe methodology highly preferred.
  • 2 years of experience with financial/operational analysis preferred.
  • Experience as a Program/Project Manager, driving and delivering complex technology programs or projects highly preferred.
  • 2 years of experience developing business cases preferred.
  • Experience working with financial planning, business unit leaders, and service managers to develop and manage complex project and program budgeting and cost estimation approaches, resource allocation, and reallocations preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex issues in a structured and concise manner, preferred.
  • Proven negotiating and consensus building abilities; ability to persuade individuals through use of data and analytics, preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage complex vendor, supplier, sub-contractor relationships; SLA oversight and escalation, preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Jira, ability to build agile boards and metric dashboards to closely track epic progress and problem, preferred.

LICENSING/CERTIFICATION:
  • PMP certification or equivalent work experience as a Project Manager required.

SKILLS/ABILITIES/KNOWLEDGE/WORK STYLE:
  • Expert knowledge of project processes, problem management tools and procedures.
  • Expert knowledge of MS Project, Visio, MS Office Suite including SharePoint.
  • Expert knowledge of technology applications and systems infrastructure.
  • Advanced knowledge of application impact on operational and business functions.
  • Proficient financial acumen to interpret corporate financial analysis and financial statements.
  • Strong Customer Service and Team orientation.
  • Demonstrates and employs active listening skills.
  • Maintains composure under pressure and accurately assesses problem situations.
  • Assumes a high level of responsibility and provides direction in a Team-oriented environment, directing tasks to finish by scheduled completion date.
  • Communicates effectively, both verbally and written, at all levels
  • Reorders job priorities for Team and self as needed.
  • Manages highly sensitive and confidential information.
  • Works effectively in a fast paced, collaborative, Team based environment.
  • Demonstrates Leadership skills to direct performance of outside Contractors and maintain positive relations with internal Customers.
