Job Description Summary

This position will serve as the project manager for research studies associated with the Magnet4Europe study, which involves 60 European hospitals in six countries (Belgium, England, Germany, Ireland, Norway, and Sweden), 60 Magnet Recognized US hospitals that will serve as twins in the intervention, and 11 research partner institutions. This individual will be responsible for day-to-day management of this complex project and carrying out activities under the direction of the research team- Dr. Linda Aiken, Dr. Matthew McHugh, Magnet Consultant Mary del Guidice, and coordinating with Program Co-Director Prof. Walter Sermeus at KU Leuven.

Job Description

With research team input and mentorship, the Research Project Manager will take leadership role in managing the detailed operations of the project. This individual will cultivate relationships with participating hospitals and partner organizations and communicate with executives at the organization. She/he/they will draft, edit, and send project-related communications, grant reports, human subjects/ethics documentation, and manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journal. Other activities this individual will be responsible for includes developing and maintaining databases, creating templates and tools for participating hospitals, updating research team members on status of activities, helping develop the team’s project strategy, and generally supporting research team members for all aspects of this project. She/he/they will be required to ensure that studies/research are conducted safely and according to protocol, potentially train/supervise teams conducting the study/interventions and collaborates with peers from other Universities and funding agencies (EU Commission and the American Nurses Credentialing Center), as well as other Center staff and the School Business Office. Organizes annual meetings of US hospitals. Provides significant contributions to presentations and manuscripts, including multiple drafts for review and dissemination, literature reviews, and other supportive roles in other dissemination activities related to project findings (e.g., poster designs, press releases, etc.).

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree with 3-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Masters in related field (e.g., MPH) preferred.
