Under the direction of the General Manager, the Recreation Manager will take over the management and operation of recreational facilities such as stable, tennis, ski area and lodges within the community; plan and implement recreational activities, which include but are not limited to special events; oversee the day to day operation of these resort style facilities, hire and manage fulltime, part-time and seasonal recreation employees including lifeguards and ski patrollers, become a strong liaison within the community to include the residents, the HOA Board and Committees and surrounding businesses.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Oversee operations and maintenance of the recreational buildings and grounds including swimming pools, beaches, stables, ski operation, sports field, tennis courts and boat house.
- Organize and arrange all work relating to maintenance and safe operation of the facilities.
- Work closely with Maintenance Supervisor for set-up requirements for major events in the Clubhouses.
- Provides oversight for the lodges to include opening and securing the building, supervising its use and reporting any needs for care or maintenance to the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Oversee and maintain routine cleaning of the recreational facilities and its grounds.
- Hire and supervise fulltime, part time and seasonal Recreation Department employees including lifeguard and ski operation staff.
- Plan and implement the community activities (i.e. movie night, wine tasting, concerts, sporting events, special events and dinners, snack bar operation, etc.) through sign ups, email blasts, etc.
- Oversee the publicity of events for the recreation department including flyers, sign ups sheets, email blasts, etc., to include managing and posting community events on Lakeridge social media platform and updating Lakeridge events on website.
- Prepare the weekly newsletter with articles / advertisements / updated information related to Activities.
- Plan, schedule and implement a variety of events for community involvement.
- Work with the General Manager/Committee/Board to development events for daily and weekly, monthly and annual events.
- Find, contract and work with entertainment, caterers, etc.
- Daily/Weekly physical purchase and inventory of supplies required.
- Assign adequate staff for scheduled events.
- Distribute approved invoices to appropriate department for payment.
- Maintain Event detail records and statistics creating for each individual event.
- Provide monthly management report with summary of all recreational activities and staffing matters.
- Attend monthly Recreation Committee meetings.
- Administer, with oversight of the General Manager, the Recreation Department budget as approved by the Board of Directors.
- Enforce all Lakeridge recreational rules and regulations; recommend changes to rules and regulations when appropriate to the General Manager.
- Obtain necessary licenses from the City, County and State for the planned events.
- Performs research and special projects at the direction of the General Manager.

Minimum Education and/or Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent required. Certification in Community Management, Resort or Hotel Management preferred. 2 years of progressive recreational facilities management experience and possess strong operational background.
- Demonstrate skills and knowledge of facility operations including activities, social, and entertainment and recreation programs
- Be familiar with computers, common office machines and basic business software application programs, including Microsoft Office.

- Must have strong communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with employees, residents and vendors, both orally and in writing.
- Able to multi-task, prioritize job tasks, and work efficiently.
- Pleasant telephone voice with clear and concise pronunciation of words.
- Ability to work with confidential/sensitive information and use diplomacy in communicating such information.
- Effective calendar management and follow up skills.
Other Requirements
- Must be able to work extended hours and on the weekends as business dictates.
- May fill in for absent staff as needed.
Physical Demands
Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Also, must be able to bend, stoop and lift up to 30 pounds.
