Job Description & Responsibilities:
Become a part of a team developing the software that recreates a real-time simulation experience for railroad engineer training and certification. You will be in charge of Project Management and follow-up based from our offices in Jacksonville, Florida.
As the project manager, your job is to plan, organize, budget, oversee and document all aspects of the specific projects you are working on. You will work closely with upper management to make sure that the scope and direction of each project is on schedule, as well as other departments for support.With a strong background in engineering, you have a proven experience of 5 years minimum in project management working with multidisciplinary teams (5 to 10 people) in a similar context in the industrial/software environment. Our achievements are highly technical and technological, you will have to understand the technical context of our products and our methods of development in the management of your teams. You will work closely with the person in charge of the project’s contractual aspects.Your excellent relationship allows you to establish with your teams and your clients a climate of confidence leading to the success of your projects.You are autonomous, organized and rigorous, with a great sense of customers and suppliers relationships. Your synthesis capabilities allow you to identify the major elements on which to base your decisions.You will work in a highly international context, you speak fluent English.Short-term on-site missions are expected for meetings, installation and acceptance of simulators by the client.
Main tasks:
· Coordinate/Manage/Coach the engineers to ensure all corporate engineering principles and quality requirements are met. Help to improve quality check processes & methods.
· Account for complete project lifecycle from inception to closure both externally and internally
o Preparing project documentation, deliverables, finances, resource allocation, and status
o Budgeting and forecasting, expense reporting, risk management, status reporting, and execution
o Managing changes with client
o Scheduling: Determining and keeping up the project timeline in partnership with engineers and client, Measuring progress: cost and schedule variance, Evaluating progress relative to project objectives
· Ensure excellent relationships with our clients
· Follow-up of sub-contractors and suppliers.
· Work in close alignment with overall engineering management structure to suggest and/or implement engineering best practices.
· Excellent team player with the ability to work within a collaborative environment.
· Ability to manage people and multidisciplinary team of engineers with different types of backgrounds.
Qualifications & skills:
· PMP/CAPM Certification highly desired.
· Proficient in MS Project, Smartsheet or similar Project Management tool.
· Bachelor degree (or higher) in Computer Sciences/Engineering.
· Expert in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project and PowerPoint); Knowledge of Adobe and Visio.
· Strong knowledge and understanding of software development & integration.
· Understanding of mechanical engineering & integration.
· Creative, resourceful, and innovative problem solver.
· Proficient English usage for oral and written technical communications.
· You must be authorized to work in the U.S.
· Knowledge of the railway industry is a plus.
· Ability to work under pressure.
