As Project Engineer, some of the things you’ll be doing are:

  • Compiling the necessary information for the project kick-off team meeting;
  • Studying plans and specifications to understand the project;
  • Reviewing owner contracts for project specific requirements;
  • Performing document control procedures both on site and electronic;
  • Initiating and coordinating project close-out;
  • Reviewing as-built drawings for compliance and accuracy prior to making monthly subcontractor payments-Raising identified issues to the Project Manager;
  • Ensuring as-built set is maintained by Superintendent and Subcontractors;
  • Working with the Superintendent to compile and process RFIs;
  • Tracking for possible costs and schedule impact;
  • Processing owner contract revisions, change proposals and change orders;
  • Processing Owner fixed price billing;
  • Sending out for pricing/estimates, as applicable.
  • Maintain RFQ log;
  • Revising change proposals/requests as a priority;
  • Flagging outstanding change orders to PM that may impact timeline or when there is no response from owner;
  • Processing and reviewing submittals for accuracy in specifications. Consulting with Superintendent for all MEP items or items that need clarification;
  • Tracking/follow-up of submittals to and from field, consultants and subcontractors;
  • Processing subcontract change orders;
  • Working closely with the PM and Superintendent on various assigned tasks;
  • Occasionally acting as/providing coverage as Assistant Superintendent on a project.

Do you possess:

  • A BS in Construction Management or Engineering Technology and 0-3 years of building construction experience years of construction administrative experience.
  • Or 2+ years of administrative construction industry experience and/or construction industry course work beyond secondary school.
  • Basic understanding of construction principles and practices.
  • Comfortable with technology.
  • Experience with BIM and LEED is beneficial.
