PMO Project Manager

Responsible for end-to-end project management demonstrating ownership of the entire project lifecycle (initiation, planning, executing, monitoring and closing) for high visibility projects that have a substantial impact to the organization. Partner with project stakeholders to define project scope, document project requirements, monitor progress to completion. Responsible for ongoing status reporting and managing against project timelines for an on-time delivery. Ensures project-related risks are managed throughout the project lifecycle including risk identification, mitigation and monitoring. May be responsible for managing outside vendors. May manage a collection of projects associated with a specific business strategy.

• Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience
• 10 – 15 years of experience in IT with emphasis on project management for IT projects
• Self-directed and able to work with minimal oversight
• Demonstrates expertise in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Proven leadership skills including relationship building, partnering and collaborating with clear ability to influence, gain buy-in and negotiate with project stakeholders and external vendors.
• Able to anticipate, respond and lead the team by logically and methodically solving issues leveraging escalation when appropriate to remove roadblocks.
• Able to think strategically, drive results and follow-through on commitments.
• Able to give, receive and interpret information required to perform root cause analysis and bring issues to closure in a timely manner.
• Demonstrates sound judgment and the ability to make fact-based decisions under pressure including making necessary assumptions to get to decision.
• Able to create a collaborative and safe project environment that encourages all team members to be accountable for issue identification, risk management and problem solving; encourages new approaches / ideas.
• Able to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration and adaptability are critical.
• Able to articulate key messages around risk, issues, customer impacts, etc to various levels within the organization.
• Able to tailor communications in terms that support overall value, business benefits, and desired outcomes by providing the appropriate level of detail based on the message objective and intended audience.
• Comfortable interacting with a wide variety of internal and external contacts with various levels of authority and responsibility.
• Experience executing software development projects and user experience work supported by external vendor partners.
• Able to drive results with these vendor partners and provide regular status for transparency of progress towards project deadlines.
• Comfortable escalating when vendor partners are off-track.
