Target Starting Salary: $104,748 – $136,427 per year. This range does not represent the full pay range for employees in this position.
Reporting location is in North Phoenix (85024) with extensive travel to Lake Havasu, Tucson, and other areas throughout the state.
This Maintenance Manager position manages all assets of the CAP water delivery system. The Maintenance West Department is responsible for implementing and managing a proactive, preventive, and reliability centered maintenance program for the open aqueduct system, aqueduct check structures and turnout structures, and several major pumping plants. These Departments make water delivery system capacity available to the CAP Water Control Department on a reliable and cost effective basis to meet the demands of Central Arizona Project (CAP) water customers.
In this role you would:
- Manage the implementation of standardized preventive, predictive and reactive maintenance procedures.
- Develop, implement, and be accountable for the departmental budget.
- Manage the safety performance of subordinate supervisors and crews and actively supports a proactive departmental safety program aligned with the CAP Safety Vision Support Team goals of zero injuries.
- Make and approve departmental staffing and performance management decisions.
- Provide coaching and advise staff in management best practices and maintenance management.
The successful candidate will have a related Bachelor’s degree plus 10 years of related work experience; OR a high school diploma/GED plus 14 years of related work experience. It is important you also bring at least three years of experience successfully leading and supervising employees. Demonstrated ability to develop and explain performance standards, measures, and accomplishments and effectively manage associated business processes are critical. Must have excellent interpersonal, negotiation, conflict resolution, customer service, communication, and leadership skills. A driver’s license and good driving record plus the ability and willingness to travel in-state up to 50% primarily Mondays – Thursdays is also essential.
