How You’ll Make a Difference:

Plans, initiates, and manages large complex information technology projects ensuring project standards are met and project completion is on time and on budget. Drives successful project execution from the approval process to completion and benefit realization. Creates, executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. Delivers business value by balancing resources, scope and project timelines. Works directly with the project sponsor to create scope and objectives and serves as a liaison between various departments, leadership and the technical aspects of projects.

Manages the execution of large complex information technology projects and ensure adherence to budget, schedule, scope and business needs. Defines project management process and standards, establishes targets, benchmarks, and success criteria for project delivery and plans, organizes, controls and evaluates projects from concept phase to implementation. Ensures effective utilization of all project resources, people and equipment, through all phases of the project to achieve project goals and to ensure project remains fiscally on target.

Develops project plans including information such as project objectives, technologies, systems, information specifications, scheduling, funding, staffing and change management. Ensures all project objectives are clearly documented, approved and delivered to meet business needs. Manages changes in project scope and budget and identifies potential risks and issues and devises contingency plans.

Monitors and reviews progress towards project milestones and deliverables, continually evaluating the quality of work. Confers with project team members to identify and resolve problems and turns troubled projects around.

Sets and continually manages project expectations with team members and business partners.

Establishes and executes a timely project communication plans, keeping IT management, business partners, and project team members abreast of project status, issues, and any changes to the project scope, budget, timeline, and/or resources. Produces regular reports showing progress towards project timelines and budget, and holds regular status meetings with project team.

Manages and leads the daily work efforts of project teams. Assigns duties, responsibilities, and spans of authority to project team members and provides effective role modeling, mentoring and coaching throughout the course of the project. Motivates team members to work together in the most efficient manner, mitigating team conflict and communication breakdowns. Provides input/recommendations to leadership regarding performance reviews, hiring, training, staffing changes and/or disciplinary action of staff. Trains new and existing staff.

Manages vendors/vendor resources to meet agreed upon deliverables.

Develops documented processes, techniques, and tools that are part of project management methodology, and identifies and implements changes based on best practices. Keeps abreast of the latest strategies and trends and implements changes to increase productivity, as needed.

Evaluates project post implementation and conducts lessons learned sessions to evaluate project results according to project plan and ensuring expected benefits and quality standards are obtained, and key insights are captured and incorporated into future projects and process.

Ensures accurate, complete and well planned changes into production, following all change guidelines.

Degrees

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field.

Required Functional Experience

Typically requires 5 years of experience in advanced project management in Information Technology with a proven record of successful project delivery.

Demonstrated leadership abilities to include project management and motivating staff toward common goals. Ability to establish goals, milestones and priorities, and to instruct, guide, assign, advise and mentor project teams.Proven ability for risk identification, assessment and contingency planning.Proficient in the use of project management methodologies, tools and processes.Superior computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite.Strong written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to concisely communicate and present complex concepts.Highly motivated, organized, self-starter with a focus on delivery of key project objectives and ability to work through large complex projects challenges.Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels..Strong facilitation and persuasion skills with ability to influence others.Excellent organizational, planning, prioritization and time management skills.Proven analytical problem-solving skills with ability to consider financial impact of decisions.Ability to learn and understand business processes quickly and the overall impact projects have on the business needs of the organization.
