Position Overview:
The Inventory Manager provides leadership to team members and direction to the organization of inventory and stocking levels in compliance with Martin Energy Groupâs policies. Verifiable experience in inventory management and practice is strongly preferred.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Developing, implementing, and managing proper procedures and processes to ensure inventory accuracy
- Implementing necessary strategies to meet and maintain department goals
- Providing insight to budget development and performance metric reporting
- Ensuring overall safety, quality, and performance of the Inventory Control business areas
- Effective communication with supervisors
- Committing to the leadership and development of team members while fostering a positive, collaborative work culture
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications, skills, and abilities:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Exhibit exceptional planning and organization skills
- Should be highly adaptable, detail-oriented, and able to work autonomously
- Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively and independently
- Ability and desire to problem solve, prioritize, and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and bend, squat, stand, and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to work in environments with variable noise levels, lighting conditions, and temperature variation
- Able to access all areas of building (ascending and descending ladders, stairs safely without limitation)
- Able to read, understand, and speak basic level of English as well as perform basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, and division
Experience/knowledge:
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles; Lean Six Sigma Training a plus
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Prior experience operating equipment (pallet jack, fork lift, manual carts, scanners, computers, bar code printers, etc.)
- Experience in inventory management preferred
