The Head of Technology Transformation is responsible for directing all functions of a multi-year, multi-platform modernization initiative transitioning legacy platforms to modernize technology (Cloud, Micro-Services Architecture) platform. The role will lead a team of external and internal resources responsible for project management, operational excellence and change management coordinating many cross-functional work streams. A successful candidate will be able to leverage Agile, Lean, Six Sigma and Operating Excellence tools to deliver these results and will be highly focused on outcomes.
To be successful in this role we will expect you to utilize strong Program Management and Agile methodologies across functional teams to drive on-time, on-scope delivery, while leading cross-functional scrum teams. You will be engaging with key stakeholders to understand, track, and mitigate risks. At the leadership level you will be expected to develop executive-level relationships with key members of the leadership team and influence key project stakeholders to support their delivery of critical initiatives. You will facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables, and measure outcomes. Included in this pivotal role will be developing full-scale project plans for both technical and business processes including:
- Detailed project budgets, schedules, and estimates
- Executive status reports, project tracking, analysis, and stage gate review
- Resource analysis and recommendations
- Issue identification and coordinate interrelated projects and project dependencies with a focus on critical path success factors and defined deliverables.
You will continue to employ new technologies within a cross-matrixed organization, as well as with multiple outside vendors to deliver quality solutions as well as share and apply industry best practices as it relates to vendor selection and project management. Part of being in a leadership role at WU is developing thought capital that can be shared with leadership and applied to future work across the organization.
For such a role, you must have executive presence within and outside the organization with a proven ability to influence up, down and across the organization and have proven effective influencing tactics and strategies. You’ll have exceptional organizational skills and know how to utilize your resources effectively. Key to this role and the successful candidate will have exemplary written and verbal communication with strong interpersonal skills. You’ll have demonstrated analytical and structured thinking and a creative problem solver You’ll have proven significant experience in program management and software and/or infrastructure solution delivery within a Fortune 500, global company. You’ll be able to share experiences of a proven track record of managing complex program budgets. You’ll have knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan. You’ll also have a proven record as a team player, able to foster excellent relationships, and create a partnership atmosphere with internal and external resources while achieving key program objectives. The top candidates will demonstrate how they have kept the organization’s mission, vision and values at the forefront of associate decision making and action. The ideal candidate has 10-15+ years’ experience in project or program management. The preferred candidate will have previous consulting experience, along with project management certification and knowledge of standard project methodologies. You’ll have a bachelor’s degree required or experience in lieu of degree. Previous experience of lean and agile working methodologies is also desirable.
