You will lead our most strategic clients – focused on delivering solutions and expanding revenue streams within both key and major sales teams while fostering a learning environment for the entire vertical sales teams – regardless of the segment.
Your ability to communicate effectively and influence action combined with your knowledge of the CPG vertical will determine your success. You are forward thinking and use insights to identify revenue opportunities. Key abilities: using your influence and relationship-building skills, to lead cross-functional partners focusing on client strategy, and research are key attributes to be successful in this role Additionally, you anticipate how decisions are made, persistently explore and uncover the business needs of key clients and the vertical you lead. You are an expert in your space and understand how our solutions can grow your business in the vertical and with our clients.
You set the vision and the strategy for both key and major client segments and are the quarterback in sustaining and growing the company’s place within your vertical. You are a thought leader with our clients, company, and industry.

As a Head of Industry for the CPG vertical, you will serve as the advocate within your vertical, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide them with a comprehensive growth strategy. You develop scalable, cross-platform advertising solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and foster long-term executive relationships with advertiser television budget owners, as well as their planning and buying agency counterparts.
  • Design and implement long-term client marketing strategies around our solutions focused on your vertical.
  • Collaborate with other sales teams to provide clients with a comprehensive portfolio of marketing solutions.
  • Work cross-functionally to help develop scalable cross-platform advertising solutions.
  • Act as a key lead for internal and external needs and C-level conversations.
Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years of sales experience
  • 5 years of experience leading teams
  • Experience in building sales and activation plans, managing against quota, negotiating and closing agreements
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing strategic plans that drive revenue
  • Accelerates in understanding technology
Preferred qualifications:
  • Knowledge of traditional and progressive media offerings
  • Effective coach with experience bringing strategy to life
  • Ability to influence to action and proven ability to work cross-functionally
  • Awareness of industry trends and specific knowledge of vertical/category
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to present Valassis Vertical Story in industry meetings and events.
  • Ability to lead customer focused conversations with data and insights.
