Head of Global Transfer Pricing will direct worldwide transfer pricing planning, controversy and documentation as well as partner with Controllers to build out an operational transfer-pricing team to provide the data and analytics to meet the planning, controversy and compliance requirements. This person will be the face to the businesses with regard to transfer pricing issues and opportunities. The TP head will report directly to the Chief Tax Officer and be part of the Tax Senior Leadership Team.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proactively manage global transfer pricing function by identifying global strategies through awareness of internal business operations, external benchmarking and considering senior management’s tolerance for risk.
- Lead the Global Transfer Pricing team—including establishing goals and objectives and leading the team to achieve those goals.
- Develop and execute large scale transfer pricing planning projects to achieve economic and operational efficiencies.
- Manage the transfer pricing elements of major corporate initiatives, strategic projects, and transactional planning and execution.
- Partnering with the broader Tax team, leverage transfer pricing to impact on the global effective tax rate.
- Advise management on transfer pricing implications of ongoing and potential international business activities and transactions, including mergers and acquisitions transactions, and serve as a resource for top management inquiries.
- Manage transfer pricing aspects of audits worldwide.
- Coordinate the preparation of global compliance documentation.
- Maintain and update a singular, global transfer pricing policy.
- Lead the relationship with third party transfer pricing advisors to enhance engagement value, including negotiating scope and fees and reviewing deliverables.
REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field, preferably, economics, with emphasis in finance and accounting. Related Master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 15 years of experience with progressive responsibilities in transfer pricing.
- At least 5 years of proven people management and/or leadership experience.
- Big Four Public Accounting experience is preferred.
- Fortune 100 in house international tax experience required.
- Strong executive presence and demonstrated ability to interface effectively with senior business leaders and communicate complex concepts to a wide and diverse audience. A strong leader, able to build relationships across the businesses and functions.
- A proven ability to influence and manage the demands of multiple stakeholders.
- Able to motivate and develop a team.
- Able to work in a dynamic and ever changing work environment.
- Excellent knowledge of budgeting, investment analysis and strategic planning concepts.
- Strong knowledge of FIN 48/GAAP.
- Sound judgment and ability to provide recommendations toward the determination of policy and strategy.
- Advanced Excel, including modeling capability and PowerPoint skills.
- Familiarity with financial systems and transfer pricing software, and curiosity and aptitude to learn new systems, capabilities and processes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
