Description:
Mercerâs Fund Administration Group supports a growing number of collective investment trusts and mutual funds. The team is looking to hire a Head of Fund Administration. The Head of Fund Administration is responsible for the overall oversight of all operational functions within the Department. Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversees the day-to-day functions within the department including external reporting, audits, tax compliance, financial administration, expense management, reconciliation, NAV oversight, and regulatory reporting through direct supervision of department.
- Provides Board reporting, management reporting, and other reporting as needed.
- Oversees relationships with key service providers with respect to certain fund administration functions including fund accountants, fund administrators, custodians, transfer agents, lenders, printers, tax services providers and independent auditors.
- Evaluates and develops internal control procedures within the department. Review and implements corrective actions to prevent errors within the department. Documents standard operating work instructions for each major functionality. In addition, identifies areas of risk for the company as a whole and provide feedback on alternatives of managing risk.
- Security Valuation: ability to apply FAS 157 regulations within at the ERISA plan level, 40 Act Mutual Fund and investment companies.
- Assist client auditors with investment product requirements and data delivery based on needs.
- Oversees the dividend declaration process for the mutual funds.
- Establishes performance objectives and expectations for each position within the department consistent with Executive Management strategic goals.
- Manages talent by coaching, training, developing and providing performance feedback to team members. Make compensation recommendations for team members and hire and terminate associates as needed.
- Participates in special projects and performs related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelorâs degree required
- Masterâs degree and or C.P.A preferred, but not required
- Minimum 15+ years operations experience with a financial institution, preferably within the mutual fund/collective trust fund industry, minimum 7+ years of management responsibilities
- Excellent organizational and management skills required
- Strong verbal/written communication skills, able to communicate effectively with all levels of Senior Management
- Able to evaluate changing organizational requirements and develop and implement new procedures as required
- PC skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other applications
