Through the three businesses – Clinical Services, Unlicensed and Licensed – we provide patient access to our own and other pharmaceutical companies’ products, whether to meet unmet medical needs or for use in clinical trials.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership
· Provide financial leadership and shape accounting strategy, with the aim to optimize the division’s financial and strategic position
· Contribute to the development of the division strategy across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision making as appropriate
· Work in conjunction with US business leaders to grow the business, formulating strategies and plans
· Lead and manage an individual and building a strong working relationship with the UK based transactional team via recruitment, training and communication
· Drive a culture of continuous improvement and world class customer service
Accounting and reporting
· Ensure governance and budgetary control for US divisions
· Co-ordinate weekly sales reporting and commentary for the SBU to the Senior Management of the Business
· Provide advice and challenge to all areas including Supply Chain activities, NPD assessment, budgets, forecasts and business plans
· Communicate effectively within the finance team assisting the team to operate at a high standard of efficiency and for US office
· Provide analytics for 3-5 year strategic plans
· Manage capital budgets including evaluation and preparation of submission of Capex proposals
Projects
· Review ad-hoc pricing and drive commercial understanding on projects
· Commercial involvement on Capital projects
· New projects as requested and agreed by SVP’s and DFD
SBU/Internal Customer Support
· Manage supplier and distribution contractual adherence to agreements
· Manage production of ad hoc detailed analysis of performance (KPI’s)/dashboard management
· Be a key, participative member of the US office
· Utilize subject matter experts in financial accounting, VAT, tax, import duties and system processing to provide Managing Director with critique and put in place adequate processes and controls to identify and mitigate risks
· Have a thorough understanding of US contracts ensuring financial compliance to T&C’s
Required Skills:
· Ability to work autonomously
· Trustworthiness and discretion when dealing with confidential information
· Desire to professionally and commercially develop within a fast paced, growing business.
· Pharmaceutical experience an advantage
· Advanced excel skills, including pivot tables, Vlookups, graph creation.
· Experience of operating at a middle management level
· CPA an advantage but not required
Required Background:
· At least 4 year experience in a similar position.
· Experience of managing a senior budget holder
· Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills
· Ability to understand and communicate effectively to all Financial matters relating to the IFRS
