The New Product Project Manager will be responsible for delegating project lead duties to a variety of team members on multiple projects. This position will be responsible for ensuring that our product commercialization stays on track from ideation to finished product. The successful candidate will work directly with individual departments to ensure various deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget of their appropriate projects, while ensuring all aspects of those projects are compatible as needed. We are looking for an individual with creativity, dedication and collaborative, as well as someone who operates well in a team environment.
New Product Project Manager Duties and Responsibilities
- Meet with stakeholders to take detailed ordering briefs, clarifying specific requirements of each project
- Drive decisions throughout the organization
- Own the product/launch timelines to keep projects on schedule
- Develop appropriate templates to coordinate all aspects of the product life cycle
- Collaborate with multiple departments on product ideation, production, marketing, sourcing, legal, testing, compliance and quality
- Work with various departments to ensure project development is not only understood, but the process from start to finish is realized and attainable
- Delegate project tasks based on timelines, team members strengths and skill sets, as well as ensuring deadlines are met
- Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of both short and long-term goals
- Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with staff
- Meet budgetary objectives and adjust constraints based on financial analysis
- Utilize strong leadership skills to work with a variety of team members
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in business, project management or a related field is preferred
- At least 5 years of prior project manager experience, ideally in a consumer product goods company
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong ability to work with a diverse work force
- Experience with process improvement and inventory control
- Experience in a high-performance environment is preferred
- Excellent time management and analytical skills
- Strong Microsoft Office skills required
- PMP Certification is preferred
