    Position Summary

    The CoS operates in highly ambiguous environments. He/She will operate at a tactical, strategic and operational level, often handling the oversight of projects that do not neatly fit within the organizational chart or [that] fall between departments or leaders areas of responsibility. While the CoS makes many important decisions and has strong leadership skills, this is a service role, at a high level, the CoS will:
    *

    • * Ensure the facilitation of the CEO’s vision for the organization.
    • Ensure the CEO is working on the most important items for the company.
    • Help complete priority items for the CEO to an appropriate level of quality.
    • Keep the CEO accountable for commitments, while helping keep reports accountable for results.
    • Keep the CEO accessible and open to new ideas and proposals.
    • Keep CEO abreast on current company climate (employee wellbeing, project statuses, new proposals, etc.)
    • Serving as a trusted advisor and confidant to the CEO

    Job Responsibilities

    Administrative

    • Drive the creation and implementation of organization-wide processes
    • Scheduling high priority meetings
    • Coordinating executive calendars
    • Planning and executing senior management conferences & retreats, all-hands meetings, and company off-sites
    • Thoroughly tracking meeting actions & follow-ups
    • Maintaining a Rolodex of important contact information

    Project Management

    • Tracking high priority initiatives for the CEO and identifying any obstacles
    • Communicating initiative status to the CEO, pulling in other executives or team members as necessary
    • Connecting teams that are working on similar initiatives
    • Pulling together and managing project teams that require input from multiple areas within the company

    Financial

    • Running the annual budget cycle process (for example, helping department heads prepare their budget materials for presentation to the CEO)
    • Project management, board meeting preparation, and creation of board meeting materials
    • Running quarterly business reviews
    • Creating and updating monthly dashboards to track changes in key metrics
    • Analyzing investment opportunities

    Strategic Initiatives

    • Work with the CEO and leadership team to establish annual, quarterly, and monthly strategic priorities and facilitate workflows advancing them
    • Identifying and taking on ad hoc strategic projects (for example, executing key initiatives or closing any operational gaps)
    • Defining and researching new ideas and business opportunities
    • Building out a new business unit
    • Providing decision support through data gathering, information analyzing and presenting considerations to relevant stakeholders

    Communications

    • Ensuring effective, mission-driven corporate communication strategy
    • Drafting speeches and presentations
    • Ensure the ideals of the CEO are communicated throughout the organization
    • Vetting speaking opportunities and interview requests

    Human Resources

    • Updating recruiting processes
    • Overseeing diversity and culture initiatives
    • Reviewing organizational structure, identifying any gaps, and filling them
    • Aligning internal processes

    Proxy

    • Attending meetings in place of the CEO
    • Making decisions in place of the CEO
    • Anticipate and serve as an honest broker resolving complex issues and disputes, and prevent bottlenecks in decision making and execution in the CEO’s absence
    • Managing critical relationships on behalf of the CEO

    Requirements and Qualifications

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Experience in consulting and operations
    • Strong interpersonal skills and a knack for productive collaboration across varying departments
    • Detail-oriented and data-driven
    • Able to successfully organize, lead and direct large teams of people
    • Possess an encouraging, can-do attitude
    • Effective manager
    • Impeccable time management and multi-tasking skills
    • Business-minded and a strategic planner
    • Proven problem solver who can make clear-headed decisions while under pressure
    • Ability to analyze and compile large sets of data and present effective reports
    • Highly experienced with project coordinating and management
    • Self-motivated and self-sufficient
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or related field; MBA preferred
    • 5+ years’ experience in a leadership/management role
    • Proven creative thinker with strong business acuity
    • Healthcare Experience required
    • A demonstrated passion for learning about and personally applying functional nutrition ideals in your life
