We’re currently seeking a Technical Director with experience servicing great games while leading ambitious teams, and who fundamentally cares about philosophy of building with purpose, fun, and design.

Responsibilities:

  • Push software development to execute elegant and scalable code that stretches the limits of game designs
  • Mentor and manage a team of engineers to develop timeframes, improve dependencies, and lead best practices in code review
  • Nurture and guide the technical quality of project milestones while persistently assessing emerging technologies
  • Define variables, constraints, and outputs for technical and game design roadmaps in achieving innovative objectives with quality and speed
  • Collaborate with engineers and product managers in extending the toolset
  • Architect strategies for networking, peer-to-peer gameplay, structured databases, and API integrations
  • Partner with game designers, marketers, UX/UI artists, and illustrators in creating fun game mechanics

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Mathematics
  • 7+ years of engineering experience
  • 3+ years of software development experience in Unity and C#
  • 2+ years servicing lives ops on games and/or updates for iOS and Androi
  • 2+ years of experience managing engineering teams
  • Experience and curiosity in multiple areas of game development (e.g. UI, server technology, tools, etc.)
  • Experience defining and leading platform initiatives
  • Experience in working in large and varied code bases (SDKs/APIs/Libraries/Plugins)
  • Excellent objected oriented skills coding for performance and reliability at scale
  • Efficient time management and proven ability to estimate time needed for engineering task completion
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to voice opinion
  • Insist on the highest standards from one’s self and team
  • Love for making video games

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (Firebase, Big Query, Datastore, App Engine)
  • Experience developing and debugging asynchronous and multi-threaded code
  • Scripting skills in Python, Perl, Shell, or another common language
  • Experience with database design and SQL
  • Experience with Linux/Unix commands
