We have an exciting opportunity for a Scrum Master to join our team. The Scrum Master will be responsible for working with the business delivery teams to deliver key products/components of the MCS Micro-modernization initiatives, both internal and customer-facing using agile principles. The key to success with this position is the ability to partner with the Product Owners and coaching the team to ensure functionality through ongoing understanding of agile practices. The Scrum Master plans and executes Sprint planning, conducts daily scrum meetings, prepares retrospectives, etc. to support the successful delivery of product backlog work items. In addition to owning the Scrum Master duties for a team, this position is instrumental in driving cohesive agile practices across the organization and working closely with other organization Scrum Masters.

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Five or more years of experience working as a Scrum Master, product owner or project manager in an application development environment, with at least 2 years’ experience using Agile Scrum.
  • Certified Scrum Master(CSM) with certificate from Scrum.org required
  • Demonstrates the ability to facilitate transitioning organization from waterfall mindset methodologies to the Agile mindset.
  • Understands the hybrid agile model.
  • Proved track record and can site project experience delivering end solution using agile.
  • Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships with the business delivery teams, leadership, senior management and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of the product lifecycle.
  • In-depth understanding of agile methodologies, and up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
  • Basic understanding of software development practices
  • Ability to use agile project tracking devices such as burn down and burn up charts
  • Knowledgeable of CMMI level 5 practices and experience with data gathering and quantitative analysis preferably, in an IT organization.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and analysis capability.
  • Comfortable with customer facing activity, business customer interviews, facilitating, and presenting at meetings.
  • Excellent technical writing skills (MS Word)
  • Excellent communication, presentation creation and delivery skills (MS PowerPoint) with the ability to communicate with a broad set of constituencies, both technical and non-technical.
  • Experienced working with Excel.
  • Ability to travel as needed (Usually quarterly).
  • US Citizenship is required for this position.

Desired Experience/Skills:

  • PMP or PMI-ACP certified
