The Scrum Master is an inward facing organizer and facilitator who will work with a delivery team on projects and/or application(s). This individual will be responsible for facilitating team activities, developing and tracking metrics, and reporting all project activities for a delivery team. Encouraging teams to adhere to Agile values and team norms will be a crucial component of this position.

Essential Functions
Strategy & Planning

  • Share Agile best practices with the Enterprise.
  • Actively participate, both internally and externally, in the Agile community.
  • Motivate teams while promoting Agile values.


Acquisition & Deployment

  • Facilitate collaborative activities within the Agile delivery team.
  • Champion Agile principles, values, and practices.
  • Facilitate the development and accountability of team norms.
  • Track delivery team process, ensuring sustainable pace and quality.
  • Promote continuous improvement within the Agile delivery team.
  • Identify and eliminate any impediments beyond the team’s authority.
  • Collaborate with other project leadership to effectively manage risks and coordinate mitigation efforts.
  • Collaborate with external teams/groups to create awareness and facilitate execution of delivery team goals.
  • Provide transparency to the team and stakeholders by ensuring metrics are relevant, available, and up-to-date.


Operational Management

  • Create and maintain work effort reports.
  • Provide business reports to management and clients as assigned.
  • Insure adherence to Agile processes and methodologies.


Incidental Functions

  • Assist with other projects as required to contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the work.
  • Prepare and lead presentations to team members and executives.
  • Minimal travel as required
  • Work outside the standard office 7.5 hour workday as required.


Position Requirements

Formal Education & Certification

  • Bachelor degree in IT, Business or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMI Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) or PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) preferred.


Knowledge & Experience

  • 2+ years IT and/or Business experience.
  • 2+ years hands on experience managing IT projects.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications and Project Management tools.
  • Experience with Agile project methodology.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with external partners preferred.
