Summary of Position
The Regional Placement Director (RPD) position is a management role focused on the development of a successful, sustainable and scaelable territory through the leadership and management of an inside and outside Regional Placement Manager team. Under the guidance of the Senior Director, Placement and Program Strategy, the RPD will be responsible for recruiting volunteer host families and facilitating high school enrollment for international students in advance of their arrival in the United States. To accomplish these objectives, the RPD will manage a team of Regional Placement Managers as well as a network of field based Local Coordinators in a designated territory.
The RPD will take the lead to ensure that recruitment goals related to Local Coordinators, host families and schools are met or exceeded. Furthermore, this position will assist with the planning and implementation of broader projects associated with field recruitment as well as Regional Placement Manager and Local Coordinator performance.
Three Key responsibilities
¡ The RPD will lead, manage and motivate a team of Regional Placement Managers to successfully place a quota of exchange students in host families and schools.
¡ The RPD will be accessible to the needs and ideas of the Regional Placement Managers, so as to understand, communicate and facilitate the implementation of best practices that will support and enable the Regional Placement Managers to succeed and thrive in their roles.
¡ The RPD will demonstrate strong sales experience and networking ability and showcase outstanding compliance with U.S. State Department regulations and CSIET program standards in order to establish this as the standard for the members of the placement team and ensure the safety and welfare of student participants.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage a small team of Regional Placement Managers who are each responsible for a group of Local Coordinators working in the field.
- Participate in the selection, hiring, training and performance evaluation of Regional Placement Managers and field independent contractors.
- Lead team meetings and individual staff meetings.
- Coach and support team in dealing with Local Coordinator performance issues.
- Coach and support team in driving lead generation and conversion of new host families.
- Work with Regional Placement Managers to design strategies to attain individual and team recruitment and placement goals.
- Work with Regional Placement Managers and team of RPDs to implement practices that increase host family, LC and school retention.
- Ensure team members are trained in reporting tools and processes to support the recruitment and placement process.
- Ensure team engagement in the development of and transition to new systems.
- Own region development, driving Local Coordinator recruitment and Regional Placement Manager benchmarks and goals.
- Work with Senior Director, Placement and Program Strategy to plan and execute grassroots, state, and national marketing campaigns in support of recruitment and development goals.
- Facilitate compliance for individual and team placements and address areas of concern.
- Collaborate with the other RPD teams to develop best practices through telephone interaction, regional meetings, and field trips.
- Assist Senior Director in providing content to web pages, intranet and extranet pages, as well as field staff newsletters and student publications.
- Communicate needs of the field to the Senior Director.
- Communicate changes of process and procedure to the Regional Placement Managers.
- Assist with content planning and implementation of annual programs, including national meetings, international meeting, regional meetings, and student orientation.
