Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Project Management Specialist to join Production Profitability supporting 737 in developing and implementing process improvement initiatives in the role of a Project Manager. This position will work with a cross-functional team to identify and eliminate waste in the production system. The work is located in Renton, WA.


Position Responsibilities

  • Leads projects and provides oversight (including performance management metrics & reporting) for a portfolio of projects in support of organizational goals and objectives.
  • Implements projects using various project management methods such as Waterfall, Lean +, and Scrum.
  • Ensures that all project control systems within the scope of the project are in place and integrates project data for decision makers.
  • Manages changes to baseline statement of work and schedules through the change management process.
  • Utilize communication skills to develop executive level presentations and present project status at a Leadership Team level.
  • Engage supplier project managers when necessary for program status, schedule, risks, opportunities, change management and issue resolution.
  • Finish with project close-outs archiving documented lessons learned, present project close-out and deploy the BPSM for RCCA as required.
  • Develops business cases and product backlog for implementation of Customer Support capabilities throughout the organization in 2020 and beyond in support of the BCA Customer Support Global Industrial Champion initiatives.
  • Uses team-building and negotiation skills to support delivery of completed features from product backlog to Customer Support businesses.
  • This is a First/ Morning shift position. Must be willing and able to work this shift.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • 3+ years of experience working in operations analysis or operations research
  • 3+ years of experience in Lean Manufacturing and Process Improvement
  • 3+ years of experience in managing or leading people or teams
  • 3+ years of experience with data analysis


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher or equivalent experience
  • Deep Knowledge of the 737 Final Assembly Production System
  • Experience utilizing scheduling tools (MS Project, Milestones, etc.)
  • Experience with executive level communication including presentation development and report outs
  • Experience developing and maintaining user-level communications and technology (SharePoint)
  • Certificate in project management or PMP certification.


Typical Education/Experience

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years’ related work experience, 10 years’ related work experience, etc.).
