ROLE
As our Director of Engineering, be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the engineering team. You will set standards, process and procedures while working with the team to make sure that deliverables are met. Work closely with the product, architecture and DevOps teams as well as other areas of the company to ensure the company’s goals are achieved.
This position directly supervises Development Engineering Managers, Senior and Principle Software Engineers, and is responsible for the direction, coordination, and evaluation of these associates. The associate will carry out leadership and management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable law. Such responsibilities will include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; setting goals; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Responsibilities:
- Key member of the Technology leadership team of a fast growing SaaS based company
- Contribute to the development and execution of a technology roadmap to support our strategy and objectives; responsible for the execution of that roadmap
- Work closely with the architect and team to execute the strategic product and technology roadmap to develop the new generation field service application
- Build and lead the engineering team to follow strong development practices to ensure quality and continuous improvements to process
- Ensure product metrics are in place to measure the success of the teams
- Promote quality within all aspects of development by actively participating in requirements gathering, technical design reviews, etc.
- Become a subject matter expert in the application
- Hold the product to the upmost quality
- Assist in production releases
- Mentor and coach senior engineers and managers
- Participate in technical interviews
- Travel to Fort Myers HQ every 2-3 weeks
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- At least 8 years’ experience in leading software engineering teams at the current level of a Sr. Manager or Director at a minimum
- 5+ years’ full stack engineering experience, ideally as a Senior developer and/or technical lead within a start-up or high-growth setting
- 5+ years’ experience in C#, SQL Server, ASP.NET, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Proven record of implementing agile software development life-cycles, automation in quality assurance, continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline
- Experience with Microsoft Azure is a plus
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong, clear written and verbal communication skills
