Family Christian Church & Community Outreach Center’s mission is to provide educational and spiritual opportunities to families and children in Urban & Rural Communities. Ninety percent of the families we serve are African Americans and we are excited about the progress in the communities we serve.

We are opening our Baton Rouge location in December and we are looking for an outstanding candidate who has excellent time management skills and a background with working with children to serve as our Director of Programs & Student Development.

Strategic Program Development:
  • Develop a vision and strategy for program growth and evolution, which will involve planning and developing additional program models/components, developing or pursuing new public funding and/or grant opportunities in collaboration with the finance and development teams, and representing Our Family program opportunities, results, and impact to the board.
  • Oversee the response to requests for Our Family services and assessment of the feasibility and strategic value of new partnerships.
  • Continue to build research-informed and evidence-based practices and resources for all tiers of the school-based programs for students, parents, teachers, and administrators. Oversee development/revision of standards of practice, and tools to manage to those standards, including ongoing codification of program materials and processes.

Program Management:
  • Manage the data team to provide academic and program data to evaluate the programmatic impact and monitor progress toward goals.
  • Partner with key leaders to determine the best team management structure, and support the management of a large, diverse staff team, ensuring programmatic excellence, strong school-based partnerships, and professional growth and continuous learning.
  • Support the continued development of Our Family racial equity competencies and foster an inclusive environment.
  • Oversee fiscal management of all programs in collaboration with the finance team, including creating programmatic budgets and amending procedures to respond to changes in external fiscal policies. Hold program staff accountable for budget management.

  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of member service and response.
  • Forward-looking thinker, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions.
  • Must have experience and patience with start-up businesses and ministries.
