The Director of Operations (DO) is fundamentally responsible to make sure that all operational departments (Front Desk, Housekeeping, Laundry, Maintenance, and Food Service) deliver amazing experiences to our members. From greeting members with big smiles, to making sure that the 200,000 square foot facility is spotless, from ensuring that all equipment works perfectly to ensuring that spaces are the appropriate temperature, the DO has broad responsibility for managing the best health club in Chicago! The DO provides superior guest service and is responsible for the total site in the absence of the General Manager. The successful candidate leads the staff as a coach and trainer. The DO will identify issues and manage staff by completing many âwalksâ of the building each day, supervising and managing the various team members continually throughout the day. The DO will hire team members, manage performance, communicate feedback, administer discipline and train the team in successful performance of their jobs. The DO is responsible for effectively managing costs (purchasing and hourly staff scheduling) for his/her departments.
