    Position Summary:

    Under limited direction, the Project Manager serves as the primary representative for specific product development initiatives. This role leads the project development related to new product, project and value engineering initiatives. The Project Manager leads all FA/PPAP initiatives. The Project Manager works with Supply Chain Director to facilitate make/buy assessments through relevant costing.

    Primary Responsibilities/Duties

    • Project manage by driving results with internal and external customers; ability to influence the team without direct authority.
    • Develops, prepares and maintains reporting, tracking and analysis tools for new product development.
    • Utilizing the plan for every part (PFEP) methodology, seeks structured routine input from and conducts regular coordination with supply chain team and subject matter experts
    • Coordinates with suppliers and supply chain to set-up MRP and POs, ensures timely completion of first articles and PPAPs, schedules pilot builds, and encourages advanced planning for creation of standard work, tooling, fixtures, gauges, lay-out plans, training and capacity to meet SQDC targets associated with product implementation and ramp plans
    • Manages the FA/PPAP process with internal and external customers.
    • Determines supplier capabilities, tooling & part costs, and lead times, design guides and samples
    • Assesses total cost of ownership and, combined with the supplier risk assessment, make recommendations for the supply strategy
    • Analyzes and implements end of life strategies that achieve the optimal balance between the need for operational flexibility and manufacturing flow, the minimization of working capital requirements, and the avoidance of write-offs due to obsolescence
    • Communicate directly with suppliers on behalf of the team to establish the best possible delivery and cost, while ensuring implementation schedules and specifications are met
    • Addresses price, delivery, quality, terms, inventory exposure, noncompliance penalties, continuous improvement incentives and other associated considerations
    • Manages assigned supply chain cost reduction projects and champion product value engineering
    • Develops and maintains professional business relationships with suppliers and internal functions to ensure Unirac’s goals and objectives are met
    • Set up a 3PL and manage all activities with Mexican 3PL

    Skill Requirements

    • 2+ years project management and quality experience required, supply chain experience preferred but not required
    • High energy, ability to drive the team
    • Well organized; ability to recognize bottlenecks
    • Proven presentation skills; good communicator
    • Track record of direct or indirect leadership experience; ability to motivate teams and clearly communicate expectations
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Bilingual (Preferred)
