Project Manager (Knowledge Management) – Nuclear Fuel Services, Inc. – Erwin, TN
Summary Description of Job:
Lead responsibilities or “Point of Contact” for large projects involving multiple technical disciplines or multi-functional interfaces. Provide interface with NFS management “customers”, off-site customers and regulatory agencies. Support NFS Knowledge Management Strategic Plan.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assumes direct engineering responsibility for specific assigned projects.
- Review and recommend materials and equipment specifications for designing and installing processing and utility equipment.
- Provide technical supervision of NFs and contract engineers and designers and installing processing and utility equipment.
- Provide engineering studies, analyses, designs, cost estimates, and schedules as required.
- Consults with and oversees A/E firms and construction contractors as required to fulfill assigned projects.
- Reviews plant operations and recommends changes that will improve cost effectiveness and/or improve worker safety.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify job position explicit and tacit knowledge using a systematic process based on nuclear industry best practices and a graded approach.
- Implement a systematic qualification program development process, including analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation phases.
- Implement self-managed, self-paced, and self-validated structured qualification programs.
- Maintain configuration of revised qualification programs.
- Instruct program mentors and subject-matter-experts.
- Coordinate qualification program activities and participation.
- Develop and maintain program implementation procedures.
- Champion continuous program improvements.
- Consolidate knowledge sources.
Education:
B. S. – Engineering or Technical discipline or combination of other 4-year degree plus 5 years’ project experience.
Experience Requirements (Beyond educational or equivalent):
Nine to ten years’ experience. Experience includes one-to-two years’ technical supervisory. Experience in human relations and communication skills is critically important for interface with customers and clients.
