Seeking a Project Manager/Estimator for interior commercial millwork projects
United Woodworking is a millwork company based in Schaumburg, IL, focused on commercial and high end residential projects that demand attention to detail, critical schedule and high level of project sophistication.
We are looking for an experienced project manager/estimator who is ready to take the next step in their career.
Summary of Position:
Project manager is responsible for day to day oversight of commercial and residential interior millwork projects in the $10,000 to $1,500,000 range. The overall project management responsibility is to ensure a smooth project delivery that is within schedule, budget, safety and other project goals. They will be responsible for completing a project from start to finish, including: bidding, organizing and planning the execution of the physical work, managing subcontractors and exceeding customer expectations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Management:
-Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the provisions and requirements of all contract documents, including: plans, specifications, owner’s contract, sub-contracts and purchase orders
-Develop construction budgets –complete some basic accounting functions as it pertains to the project. -Review and approve subcontractor and vendor invoices
-Maintain relationships with clients, sub-contractors and architects
-Ensure quality of work by subcontractors and United Woodworking meets quality expectations.
-Write significant project related correspondence. Prepare and develop reports for client project status meetings/requests
-Work with Field Superintendent to coordinate all aspects of job/measure
-Provide reporting on project progress, financial status, and other requests
-Manage change orders with clients and subcontractors
Estimating/Pre-Construction:
-Participate in bidding, conceptual estimates and budgeting
Position Requirements:
-3+ years as a CONSTRUCTION Project Manager a must (other forms of project management experience will NOT qualify you for this position)
-Prior commercial interior millwork experience required
-Ability to read and understand Construction Blueprints, specifications and technical language of construction
-Well developed skills for managing project profitability and reporting including: budgeting, forecasting and analyzing job costs and project budgets
-Total understanding of project budgeting and estimating
Software Skills:
-MS Word & Excel experience required
-MS Project experience a plus
Competencies:
-Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple, competing priorities
-Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
-Diplomacy to navigate relationships with field personnel, municipalities, subcontractors and clients
-Proven ability to successfully manage multiple projects concurrently

-Must have a valid driver’s license and your own transportation
