Project Manager
Description of the Position
The Project Manager is a critical position to help with the steady growth of the Renewable Energy market. Within this role the candidate will be working with customers located throughout the US. In this fast paced position, the ideal candidate will need to be professional, well organized, able to solve problems, and be willing to go above and beyond to ensure the customer is satisfied with the services and products supplied. There will be many challenges that arise throughout the day and the candidate must be able to remain focused and positive to maintain great relationships with the customers, vendors and within the organization.
The candidate will work directly with the Senior PM and the Sales Rep as well as other PMs and PCs, and will need to coordinate with the Branch Manager on projects as well. Each team member needs to provide great customer service and the ideal candidate must also be focused on ensuring customers are satisfied to ensure they return for additional business.
Below is a list of the daily activities which could and will adjust as required. There will be days where the candidate will be asked to assist with other duties that are not listed below and must be willing to fill in as needed.
- Internal Team Relations
- PMs will directly report to Senior PM
- Senior PM will provide direction and set timelines for all items needed
- Internal reviews and one on one meetings will be scheduled and held by and with the Senior PM
- Will work with Project Coordinators on quotes, POs, tracking, and additional items required to satisfy customers
- Engagement with training of new team members
- Engagement and continues training on material, equipment, tools, and other items to ensure we can communicate accurately to the customer
- Work with the entire team if tasks need to be completed
- Data Entry
- Quotation Entry
- Purchase Order Entry
- Invoice Entry
- Ensure quotes match purchase orders and that all invoices match customer purchase orders
- Input tracking information and freight charges
- Organize and upload items on to CES’ shared drive
- Customer Interface
- Discuss material needed
- Compose emails explaining the quotes and/or material requirements
- Provide delivery/ tracking information
- Provide lead time for all material and products
- Act as conduit between manufacturers/ vendors and customer for information on lead times and product details
- Schedule of deliverables (i.e designs, submittals, and close out documents)
- Present and discuss new products that could benefit their business
- Follow up with customers on quotes to ensure we are providing what they require
- Vendor Relations
- Work with vendors to achieve best pricing and lead times
- Build new relationships with vendors that could benefit our customers
- Ensure material arrives when required
- Support in the negotiation for products that are consistently purchased
- Ensure that special offers are presented and that they are honored
- Work on blanket type quotes for standard items
- Other Responsibilities
- Returns for unused/ unwanted items
- Ensure debits are completed
- Stock Maintenance
- Inventory review and management (coordinated with Senior PM and Branch Manager)
- Unloading and Receiving Packages
- Warehouse / Office Cleaning and Organizing
Requirements for the Position
- Electrical and Renewable Energy experience/knowledge highly preferred
- Previous Inside Support experience within Electrical Distribution is strongly preferred
- Must have great customer service skills and “AIM TO PLEASE” attitude
- Proficient in typing, data entry, and Microsoft applications
- Ability to quickly think about “outside of the box” solutions
- Great communication skills both verbally and in emails correspondence
- Ability to maintain a calm and positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
- Highly organized and self motivated
- Comfortable talking with customers and vendors in any situation
- Ability to read blueprints and project specifications
- High School Diploma/GED
