    Construction Project Manager

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Directly supervise and coordinate activities of civil construction projects which may include (but are not limited to) site development and large foundation construction.
    • Examine and inspect work progress, equipment and construction sites to verify quality and safety requirements are being met.
    • Train workers in construction methods, operation of equipment, safety procedures and company policies.
    • Read specifications such as blueprints to determine construction requirements and to plan procedures.
    • Assign work to employees based on material and worker requirements for specific jobs.
    • Confer with managerial and technical personnel, other departments, and contractors in order to resolve problems and coordinate activities.
    • Maintain and improve company gross profit by assisting Management to negotiate sub-contractor contracts.
    • Review job cost for all construction projects; communicate and make required adjustments.
    • Aid in improving and qualifying estimates prior to proposals going out to clients.
    • Provide direction and assistance to all Superintendents and General Foremen. Direction includes a review of estimates, schedules, manpower and execution of projects.
    • Build & nurture strategic alliances/relationships with key individuals that strengthen company (i.e. customers, subcontractors, suppliers, future employees, architects and other key groups).
    • Complete and maintain appropriate documentation associated with project(s) in a timely manner. Schedule, time keeping, etc.
    • Solve problems by using judgment based upon knowledge of existing products, properties’ and/or subcontractor schedules, management policies and departmental practices and procedures.
    • Meet established productivity, budget and task management standards.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in construction industry. (Preferred)
    • 5+ years of management experience, in the industrial or commercial construction industry.
    • Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with customers, government and city officials and staff.
    • Highly organized with the ability to handle a multitude of projects simultaneously.
    • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the construction industry. Ability to understand and follow building codes and regulations.
    • Must have a clear understanding of trade/sub contractor’s duties.
    • OSHA training certificate preferred.
    • Strong computer skills including a proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of Microsoft Projects and estimating.

    Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

    Normal office environment. Work schedules vary depending on business needs to accommodate customers. Travel to visit customers and job sites, weekly or as needed. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
